So this is where I have been recently...
Yep, selling my house. I'm so glad the sorting, the organizing, the donating, the packing, the taping...ooooh the screechy loud taping...is over with! But that last day when I had to shut the door on my completely empty house and know as soon as it did shut that I would never again open it - it hit me pretty hard. It's the only house my babies have known and was technically my husband and I's first house.
But another chapter of our lives is calling and I have no regrets and no doubts about where God is taking us. Now we play the waiting game to close on the other house but with my parents in an extremely nice apartment complex with two pools - one resort style, basketball courts, movie theatre room, full workout room along with a cappuccino machine that anyone can use anytime, this batchin' it ain't bad!
And yes I've been in Texas long enough that I use the word ain't. Don't tell my dad. He would be correcting my English right now and I'm family so it's out loud not in his head :) .
Hopefully I can manage to ACTUALLY make some blog posts while I wait on my new home!

Have you ever had one of the mornings?

Have you ever had one of those mornings? Or perhaps one of those days? Today was certainly one of "those" kind of mornings and I was at my whit's end! Kids were driving me nuts, I had completely forgotten to get something I needed for my class THAT DAY so I'm frantically trying to run out the door early enough to get to the store before dropping kids off at school (which typically I'm lucky to barely get just to the school on time) and we get to the store, wait FOREVER while some guy goes in the back to see if they have any to find out the item I needed had all been thrown out the NIGHT BEFORE... yada yada yada. You get the gist right? So when I finally have dropped one child off and we're headed to the next drop off I'm praying to God pleading with Him to PLEASE help me because I just cannot have a whole day like this! I need my day to get better!
Right then as I'm driving and asking God to PLEASE have mercy and bring me some peace some flashing lights out of the corner of my eye catch my attention. And NO it wasn't a cop okay! I looked over and it was an ambulance that you can tell had just pulled up to this person's house. And my first reaction was "Oh Lord I hope everything is okay!" I mean obviously it's not okay at the moment, thus the ambulance, but I was just hoping it would turn out all right. After whispering a short prayer my mind finally realized something:
My morning really wasn't that bad after all.
When you put your circumstances into perspective things really aren't as bad as they seem in that moment. I thanked God for helping me remember to count my blessings and my "problems" really weren't a big deal.

It has come at last...
About 38 minutes ago I had the first "I want to cut my own hair" experience with one of my children. It skipped by my first child thankfully but sure enough it had to happen. Here is the 3 year old culprit:
She is showing you the hair that she cut (thankfully that was it!!) and her look explains the talkin-to she got before the photo op. And here is the beautiful lock forever lost.

Sunsets and Stars
I used to frequently do "Silent Sundays" which was posting pictures instead of writing, so you keep your focus and energy on worshipping God on Sundays, and NOT on worrying about getting your post in for the day. I still like to do it but the blogger that ran it no longer does. So instead I want to post some pics but also tell you shortly about my wonderful evening!

This was the beautiful sunset - and I just took these a couple hours ago so no they have not been digitally altered in any way - that is the real color! lol...this was also taken right from my driveway looking through the neighbors tree looking in the direction of the lake.
I know this next picture LOOKS like water but it actually the pavement of our neighborhood road, hehe! I got down close to the pavement for the shot and my husband as soon as he saw it said, "That LOOKS like it is water!"

It was a beautiful evening and I'm so glad I enjoyed it with my family, in the peace and quiet so I could truly enjoy the moment. What have you done to slow down and just "enjoy" recently???
These next few pics were of us hanging out on the blanket I layed out in our front yard so we could wait for the stars to appear. I got to lay next to my daughter and explain to her that God made those stars and I asked her, "Wasn't that nice of God to make those stars so pretty and put them in the sky for us?" To which a smiling girl replied in a high pitched excited voice, "Yea".

Not the best of days...
Well my sister in law informed me she is gonna kick my butt (or was it stay on my butt...hmm, owell ;) ) if I don't keep up with this.
Ok so I actually just wrote this enormously long post and then looked back at it and realized "wow you are angry and need to calm down, do you see that you are just complaining on here." So I highlighted the ENTIRE post and pushed delete. And since you now know I'm a bit hot right now I'm going to get my mind OFF the negative and be thankful for what I DO have and the bright side of life. So instead of telling you about my day (like I did before) I'm going to tell you about my wonderful night last night instead.
I had a rough, not too bad but not the most pleasant, evening dealing with my kids. I had babysat three lil girls of a friend of mine overnight and so my kids were tired and cranky (and frankly I was too). So Nick had gone that morning and rented a couple movies and got one just for me (chic flick) for us to watch together. Once seeing my evening he said to me "how bout we watch your movie tonight?" Then after the kids were bathed, teeth brushed, story was read, prayers were said, and dream land had come I was on the couch reading a magazine and Nick popped the movie in. He scooped me up a big bowl of my favorite ice cream chocolate chip cookie dough and we sat opposite each other on the couch so we could rub and tickle each other's feet during the movie. We watched Fool's Gold and laughed about how many times Matthew McConaughey gets hit in the head during the film! It was SO relaxing and just what I needed! We laughed and talked for a lil while after the show and then I finally went to bed as Nick stayed up a lil longer to watch the men's beach volleyball match at the Olympics.
It was so nice and moments like that do not come often enough, not because we don't want them but we let life get in our way. Now seeing how this day is unfolding I think we may purposely do a repeat of last night (minus the ice cream since we are out) since Nick (my husband) isn't feeling good and I'm stressed again.
Good news is...I have my monthly scrap booking crop tomorrow and will get the joyous break I need and get to joke around with and visit with my cropping gals almost ALL day! Can't wait!
