I apologize. I apologize. I apologize. Wow I was just going through some old blog posts (again facing the cold hard reality that I have BARELY blogged lately due to increase in life activity!) and realized I had blogs that SAID I would continue posting on them such as my December "Spread the Love" quest which I only posted FOUR days worth! Again: I apologize!
I really am too busy to keep up with my blog the way I really wish I could. And it's sad because man I have some incredible post ideas that never make it to pen and paper...um excuse me keyboard and computer screen. So today I just apologize. I will attempt to stop making posts that I must follow up on because let's face it I've been like Bob the Builder this last year - starting all kinds of new blog posts and adventures and not being able to finish ANY of them! well maybe a few, but most no.
But let's be serious, if you are a wife, a mother, a youth pastor, and well just a woman in general you often get overwhelmed and overextend yourself. Or maybe it's just me. But I really think not. However I did accomplish something I'm very proud of last year and that was that I completed Beth Moore's Siesta Scripture Memory Challenge to memorize 24 verses in 2011. And with increased hours at work, increased hours my kids are at school and just life I think often of the first 8 verses I memorized last year -they made up Psalm 121 in it's entirety. So if you feel overextended and under accomplished today may these verses comfort you too.
Psalm 121
"I raise my eyes toward the mountains, where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip, Your protector will not slumber. Indeed the protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. The Lord protects you, the Lord is a shelter right by your side. The sun will not strike you by day, or the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all harm, He will protect your life. The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever."
(and yes I typed it from my memory so if a couple words are off I apologize)

A note from Joyce Meyer
"Even when we are in a place of obedience to God, we often have no natural way of knowing for sure whether we are right or wrong. We have nothing more than faith to help us take that first step. We may not be certain that what we are doing is the right thing until after we have done it and then look back to see if God's grace was there to cause our efforts to bear good fruit.
Sometimes we may be wrong. That thought seems frightening at, so we think I had better just stay here where it is safe. But if we do that, we will soon be miserable if God truly has told us to move forward.
If our hearts are right and we do our best when we hear from Him, God will redeem us and honor our steps of obedience. If we move with childlike trust to obey what we believe in our hearts He has told us to do, even if that decision is wrong, God will take that mistake and work it out for our good. I know this is true because Romans 8:28 says that all tings work together and fit into God's plan for good for those of us who are called according to His purpose.
Many people are afraid to move because they think that if they make a mistake, God will be angry with them. But this is where trusting His character is so vital to walking in faith. People who are too afraid to obey are so miserable anyways that they cannot get any worse off by stepping out and trying to do what God is telling them to do.
I once had a ministry position at our home church. I loved it, but felt God was leading me to step out into something new. I did leave, but not because I wanted to. I left because God's anointing and power for me to be there had lifted, and I became miserable until I obeyed Him. I realized I would find peace only if I left my "safety zone" and tested what I believed He told me to do. That was the only way to find out if I was right or wrong about hearing his voice. I had to step out to find out!
I exhort you with this truth: Do not spend all your life playing it safe! Safety is very comfortable, but it may keep you from God's perfect plan for your life. Trust His Word and keep your heart willing and ready to obey. You will find throughout your life that God regularly calls us out of our comfort zones and into new places of faith and growth in Him."
